Welcome to valleychildbirth.com and congratulations on your pregnancy and upcoming birth. This is one of the most joyous and memorable times in your life. The birth of your baby will be among the most important and life-changing events you experience, and the day of your birth will be one that you always remember. As a doula, childbirth educator, and breastfeeding counselor, I am committed to doing everything I can to help you make your birth and postpartum period the best it can possibly be.
If you are a first time mother, you may feel that the number of decisions you need to make while planning your birth are overwhelming. If you have given birth before, you may be hoping to have a different birthing experience this time. Either way, the information contained on this site and on the links provided will be a valuable resource to you.
As a doula and childbirth educator, part of my job is to provide you with information based on reliable, accurate evidence. After studying and reflecting on this information, you will then be prepared to make informed choices that are best for you, your baby, and your family.
I believe that pregnancy and birth are natural, normal, and safe events and that women have the right to birth their babies how and where they want to. I am happy to attend births in the comfort and privacy of your home, in a birth center, or in a hospital, supporting you through natural, medicated, or cesarean births.
I firmly believe that the human body is beautifully designed to give birth naturally, without drugs or interventions, and yet I understand that each situation is unique and am committed to honoring your choices for your birth.
I am now happy to offer postpartum doula services to support the new family with comfort and help in the days and weeks after birth as well.
